All programs are free and attended by individuals and group homes from the community. For more information on any of our S.O.U.L. programs please call the church at (905) 685-8294 Wednesday through Friday morning and ask for Heather, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
“Christian Bingo and Sing-a-long” Day – Participants enjoy the singing of contemporary Christian praise songs. All participants partake in gross and fine motor movement through action songs. We play 2 games of Christian Bingo with prizes. (NB: Those who are unable to participate physically, enjoy music and socializing.) Followed by coffee/snack break.
“Craft” day – Featuring a seasonal craft usually corresponding to the Church calendar. Practical crafts allow clients to express creativity while exercising fine motor skills and enjoying a tactile experience (eg painting, cutting, gluing and assembly of many different materials). All crafts are safe using non-toxic materials and adapted to accommodate different levels of ability. (NB: Some crafts are seasonal (jam making, Easter egg decorations) with special attention given to allergies. Followed by coffee/snack break.
Lunch Group and Bible Study – 11:30 – Immediately following regular programming, clients and their support staff are welcome to bring a lunch and enjoy a time of Bible study, prayer and socializing.
“M.A.D. (Music/Art/Drama) Friday” – in the sanctuary, featuring singing and skits. Participants sing, celebrate birthdays and other special life events and share in prayer. Participants may take part in a short, unrehearsed Biblical drama, wearing costumes, using props and repeating lines. Followed by coffee/snack time in the basement.
Special events like BBQs, visiting choirs, dance parties and special holiday celebrations (Christmas potluck, etc) may be offered as well:
Heather Simons at a Bethesda Information Gathering at the Parkway Inn, giving out information pamphlets and explaining to interested people about the SOUL Program here at Christ Lutheran Church.
SOUL continues to grow reaching into our community with 50 to 100 participants per day.
Please continue to keep SOUL Ministries in your prayers as God leads us through the next 10 years of serving our LORD !!
SOUL is in Need of Crafts Supplies.
Each week 60-80 people attend the SOUL program for crafts. We’re in need of materials that could be made into crafts, so if you have anything in quantities of 50 or more, please consider donating. Items can be placed on the SOUL counter outside of the kitchen. Thank you!
